Key accused arrested for allegedly supporting foreign terrorists in Kishtwar

JAMMU (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested another accused for allegedly providing logistical support to foreign terrorists in Kishtwar district, as part of its ongoing crackdown on terror support networks.

The arrest was made during the investigation of FIR No. 03/2026 registered at Police Station Chatroo under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Arms Act.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Naresh Singh said the accused, Mohd Rafiq Naik, a resident of Dwather village in Singhpur, was arrested for his alleged role in facilitating foreign terrorists operating in the Chatroo area.

According to the SSP, preliminary investigation has revealed that Naik allegedly acted as the main handler of the Saifullah group in the Chatroo belt and provided active logistical assistance to the foreign terrorist group operating in the region.

Police said the arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Efforts are underway to establish the full extent of the accused’s involvement, his network, and his links with the foreign terrorist group.

Earlier, police had arrested Muneer Ahmed and Mashkoor Ahmed, both residents of Chatroo, for their alleged involvement in facilitating terrorist activities in the same case.

Police said the investigation is continuing to identify and dismantle the entire terror support network, and all those found involved will be proceeded against in accordance with the law. — (KIMS)
