CM Omar Abdullah highlights people-centric governance, development push ahead of Darbar Move reopening in Jammu

JAMMU — As government offices reopen in Jammu on Monday following the Darbar Move, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reiterated his government’s focus on responsive, inclusive and people-centric governance across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s Office said the year so far has witnessed sustained efforts towards improving public services and strengthening infrastructure across the Union Territory.

The post said the Chief Minister has travelled extensively across Jammu and Kashmir, visiting remote villages, towns and urban centres, interacting directly with people and listening to their grievances and concerns.

It said these public interactions have helped shape the government’s priorities, with emphasis on better road connectivity, safe drinking water, reliable power supply, environmental protection, healthcare, education, skill development, sports and modern infrastructure.

Highlighting major development initiatives, the CM’s Office mentioned the proposed modern solid waste management facility at Achan in Srinagar, a mega water supply scheme in Udhampur, new industrial estates across Jammu and Kashmir, Tawi Wonderland, Unity Malls and the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir.

The initiatives, it said, are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, creating economic opportunities and improving public services.

The CM’s Office said the government remains committed to ensuring that development reaches every region and benefits all sections of society, while pursuing the vision of an inclusive, progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. — (KIMS)
