Srinagar Police Attaches Property Worth ₹1.20 Crore of Drug Peddler under Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign

Srinagar, May 05:

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Srinagar Police on Tuesday attached immovable property worth approximately ₹1.20 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, as part of the ongoing 100-day campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, a team from Police Station Nowhatta attached the property linked to an accused involved in FIR No. 61/2019 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.

The attached assets include a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block equipped with three washrooms, and land measuring 09 marlas.

The property has been identified as belonging to Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Habibullah Sheikh, a resident of Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah, Hawal Srinagar.

According to police officials, investigations revealed that the property was acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking. Consequently, it has been attached as illegally acquired property under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

Officials stated that the action is part of a sustained effort to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting drug networks in the region. Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace and urged the public to come forward with any information related to drug abuse or trafficking.
