Waheed Para questions JK Bank recruitment age limit, seeks relaxation to 40 years

SRINAGAR — Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Pulwama Waheed Para on Saturday raised concerns over the age criteria in the latest Jammu and Kashmir Bank recruitment notification for Probationary Officers (PO) and Banking Associates, demanding an increase in the upper age limit to 40 years.
In a post on X, Para termed the existing age limit of 20 to 30 years unfair to thousands of aspirants who have been waiting for recruitment opportunities for years.
He questioned why JK Bank aspirants were being restricted to an upper age limit of 30 years when the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) allows candidates up to 40 years of age in certain recruitments.
Para also objected to the application of reservation policies in JK Bank recruitment, arguing that it undermines merit-based opportunities for local youth.
He demanded an increase in the upper age limit to 40 years and withdrawal of reservation in the recruitment process, saying educated youth should be provided a fair and equal opportunity. — (KIMS)
