Minor girl recovered within 24 hours in Pulwama; Accused arrested: Police

PULWAMA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered a minor girl within 24 hours of her reported kidnapping in Pulwama district and arrested the accused involved in the case.

According to a police statement, a written complaint regarding the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl was received at Police Station Pulwama.

Acting on the complaint, police registered FIR No. 111/2026 under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and immediately initiated investigation.

Police said special teams were constituted and extensive efforts were launched to trace the victim.

Through sustained investigation and technical assistance, the minor girl was recovered within 24 hours of the case being reported, and the accused was arrested.

The statement said the prompt resolution of the case reflects the commitment of Pulwama Police towards ensuring the safety and security of women and children.
