Mehbooba Only Voice Speaking Truth in J&K as NC Rule only Draws Public Anger: Iltija Mufti
Srinagar, Apr 25 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the National Conference-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, alleging growing public dissatisfaction over governance issues and policy decisions.
Speaking to reporters, Iltija Mufti claimed that people have “lost hope” in the present dispensation and are increasingly disillusioned due to what she termed as failure on key fronts, including unemployment and unfulfilled promises.
She further alleged that the removal of Urdu and other local languages from revenue records has hurt public sentiment and raised serious concerns among people.
Referring to public perception, she said that PDP president Mehbooba Mufti is being seen by many as the only leader who speaks honestly on prevailing issues in the Union Territory.
Highlighting grievances of youth, Iltija said many young people are approaching her over issues like electricity bill waivers, adding that the government has failed to address their concerns effectively.
She also criticised remarks attributed to the leadership regarding accountability, saying such statements reflect the government’s inability to deliver on its commitments. (KNC)
