Major Anti-Terror Operation in Baramulla: Huge Cache of Arms, Ammunition Recovered

Baramulla, July 20: Security forces achieved a major success in counter-terror operations after recovering a large cache of war-like stores from the Kandi forest area of Baramulla during a joint search operation.

The operation was launched on July 20 following specific intelligence inputs received by Baramulla Police regarding the presence of concealed war-like stores in the forest area.

A joint team comprising the Indian Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles, Baramulla Police, 53 Battalion CRPF and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) carried out an extensive search, leading to the recovery of two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two pistols, and 530 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition hidden in the forest.

Officials said the recovery is a significant achievement for the security forces and is believed to have foiled potential terror activities in the region.

Security agencies have intensified surveillance in the area, while further investigation is underway to identify those responsible for concealing the arms and explosives.
