J&K govt approves ₹255 crore for two Unity Malls in Srinagar, Jammu
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the government has approved the construction of two Unity Malls, one each in Srinagar and Jammu, at a cumulative cost of ₹255 crore.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the proposed Unity Malls will provide a dedicated platform for local artisans, handloom and handicraft products, Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged goods and regional entrepreneurs.
He said the projects are aimed at creating vibrant commercial spaces that will promote tourism, trade and employment across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister said the initiative is expected to strengthen market access for local products while providing a boost to the Union Territory’s traditional crafts and entrepreneurial ecosystem. — (KIMS)
