Jerusalem Court Grants Relief to Benjamin Netanyahu, Cancels Testimony in Corruption Trial

A court in Jerusalem has approved a request by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cancel his scheduled testimony in an ongoing corruption trial this week, according to local media reports.

Netanyahu’s legal team cited pressing “security and diplomatic concerns” as the reason behind seeking the postponement.

The high-profile trial, which has been underway since 2019, is currently in the cross-examination phase of Netanyahu’s testimony. He is facing three separate corruption charges.

This marks yet another delay in the proceedings, with court appearances having been postponed several times in the past. Many of these interruptions have coincided with escalating regional tensions, including conflicts involving Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Iran.
