Govt approves ₹18.96 crore Water Supply Project for Pulwama: Waheed Para
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Thursday said that the government has granted administrative approval for a major Water Supply Scheme for Pulwama town at an estimated cost of ₹18.96 crore.
Sharing the development in a post on X, Para said drinking water has remained a major concern for the people of Pulwama and that he had been pursuing the project relentlessly for the past two years.
He said the project has now received official administrative approval, paving the way for the implementation of the long-pending water supply scheme.
According to a government order issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department, administrative approval has been accorded to the Water Supply Scheme for Pulwama Town (coverage part) at an estimated cost of ₹18.9631 crore under the Urban Development Sector (DULBK) Capex Budget 2026-27.
Para thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Commissioner/Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, for facilitating the approval of the project.
