CCIK Delegation Meets Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce; Submits Memorandum on Key Industrial and Business Issues
Srinagar, September 21: A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK) called on Shri Vikramjit Singh, IPS, Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, and submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting several pressing issues concerning the industrial and business sector of the Union Territory.
The CCIK delegation was led by Mr. Tariq Ghani, President, and comprised Mr. Hussain Khan, Senior Vice President, Mr. Aatif Khan, Joint Secretary, Mr. Ashiq Bhat, Coordinator, and Mr. Umer Koul, Convenor.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Commissioner Secretary of various concerns being faced by industrialists, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, hoteliers and members of the business community. The memorandum primarily focused on the following issues:

Pending Demarcation of Allotted Industrial Land
Delay in Action Plan for Newly Shortlisted Applicants
Non-Implementation of Industrial Tariff Benefits for Hotels under MSME/Service Sector
Poor Road Infrastructure in Industrial Estates
Unscheduled Power Cuts Affecting Industrial Operations
Extension of Solar Subsidy Benefits to Industrial and Commercial Establishments
The delegation emphasized that timely resolution of these issues would significantly enhance investor confidence, accelerate industrial growth, facilitate employment generation and strengthen the overall business ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
During the interaction, CCIK also proposed that an exclusive exhibition showcasing startups, innovation-driven enterprises and emerging entrepreneurs of Jammu & Kashmir be organized jointly by the Industries & Commerce Department and CCIK. The Chamber stated that such an initiative would provide a valuable platform for young entrepreneurs to display their products, services and innovative business ideas while connecting with investors, industry leaders and government stakeholders.
Shri Vikramjit Singh, IPS, welcomed the proposal and agreed in principle to organize the Startup Exhibition in collaboration with CCIK, recognizing the importance of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and startup culture across the Union Territory.
The Commissioner Secretary assured the delegation that the issues highlighted in the memorandum would be examined and taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also appreciated the constructive role being played by CCIK in representing the concerns of the business community and contributing towards economic development in Jammu & Kashmir.
The CCIK delegation expressed gratitude to the Commissioner Secretary for his patient hearing and positive response and reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to working closely with the Government for the promotion of trade, industry, investment and employment generation in the region.
