BJP Demands CBI Probe into J&K ‘25,000 Jobs Outsourcing Scam’, Accuses NC Government of Institutionalised Corruption

Jammu/Srinagar, June 30:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC)-led Jammu & Kashmir government, alleging that the outsourcing of 25,000 government jobs amounts to a massive recruitment scam. The party demanded an immediate CBI inquiry, describing the move as “institutionalised corruption” that has deprived deserving youth of fair employment opportunities.

Addressing a press conference, BJP spokespersons Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu alleged that instead of fulfilling its election promise of providing one lakh jobs, the NC government has allowed thousands of government posts to be filled through outsourcing, bypassing transparent recruitment mechanisms such as the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB).

The BJP leaders claimed that the outsourcing process has encouraged backdoor appointments and nepotism, alleging that influential individuals close to the ruling establishment have benefited at the expense of qualified candidates. They further alleged that the recruitment process lacks transparency and accountability.

Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia accused the NC-Congress alliance of continuing what he described as a history of backdoor appointments. He also raised concerns regarding the appointment of certain doctors returning from Gulf countries, claiming that those who served in Jammu and Kashmir during difficult periods of militancy were being overlooked.

Zorawar Singh Jamwal termed the outsourcing policy “a recruitment scam of unprecedented scale,” alleging that regular recruitment through the SSRB had been deliberately sidelined. He said outsourcing government jobs through contractors undermines merit-based selection and damages the future of educated youth.

Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu said thousands of parents invest heavily in educating their children with the hope of securing government employment, but alleged that favouritism and political patronage have denied deserving candidates equal opportunities. He warned that BJP workers would launch protests if necessary to safeguard the employment rights of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth.

The BJP demanded the immediate withdrawal of the outsourcing policy, a comprehensive CBI investigation into the recruitment process, and a review of all appointments made under the policy. The party urged the government to ensure that all future government recruitment is conducted through transparent, merit-based procedures.

The National Conference government has not yet responded to the BJP’s allegations.
