ANANTNAG — Police in Anantnag has recovered 11 stolen and missing mobile phones during 2026 through the effective use of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, officials said on Wednesday.

The recovered phones were traced from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir as well as from outside the Union Territory.

In one significant case, a stolen or missing mobile phone was traced to Badhapur in Uttar Pradesh and subsequently recovered and handed over to its rightful owner, police said.

Police said the recoveries were made through the dedicated efforts of personnel at Police Station Aishmuqam and CCTNS operators, who effectively utilised the CEIR portal to trace and recover missing mobile devices.
