Intelligence-Based District-Wide Raids Conducted to Dismantle Terror Support Network; Investigation Intensified

Srinagar, July 22  : In one of the largest security operations launched in the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Anantnag, Srinagar Police carried out extensive intelligence-based raids across the district, detaining nearly 700 suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for questioning and verification as part of an ongoing anti-terror investigation.

According to official sources, the coordinated operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence inputs, with security personnel conducting simultaneous searches at multiple locations across Srinagar. The exercise was aimed at identifying individuals allegedly linked to terror networks and gathering crucial evidence to aid the ongoing investigation.

Police said the detained suspects are being questioned in accordance with legal procedures to verify their possible involvement in providing support to terrorist organisations. The action forms part of a broader strategy to dismantle the infrastructure that facilitates terrorist activities in the region.

Officials stated that the operation is focused on identifying and disrupting networks allegedly involved in providing logistical assistance, financial support, transportation, communication facilities, shelter, and other forms of aid to militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the district-wide searches, security teams collected material and intelligence inputs, traced suspected associates, and examined potential links that could help investigators uncover the wider terror ecosystem. The operation was also aimed at preventing any attempts by terrorists or their supporters to regroup or carry out activities that could endanger public safety.

Police described the crackdown as a preventive and proactive security measure intended to strengthen law and order, maintain peace, and ensure the safety of residents following the Anantnag terror incident.

Reaffirming its commitment to counter-terrorism efforts, Srinagar Police said intelligence-driven operations against terrorist networks and their support structures will continue in close coordination with other security and intelligence agencies.
