Police auctions 25 vehicles seized under NDPS Act in Kathua for Rs 17.72 lakh
Jammu, Jul 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday auctioned 25 vehicles seized in narcotics-related cases in Kathua district, generating a revenue of Rs 17.72 lakh, officials said.
The auction was conducted at the district police lines at Kathua, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma in accordance with section 52-A of the NDPS Act.
The officials said that all 25 seized vehicles were disposed of through an open bidding process, which generated a total revenue of Rs 17,72,600.
They said the auction was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act and the directions of the district drug disposal committee, ensuring transparency, accountability and compliance with legal procedures.
The police said the initiative reflects its commitment to strict enforcement against drug trafficking while ensuring the lawful and timely disposal of seized property under the provisions of the law. (PTI)
