Minister Says Action Will Be Taken Strictly as Per Law After Completion of Investigation
Srinagar, June 20 (ANN): Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday said that cardiologist Dr. Syed Maqbool has been placed under suspension and that the inquiry into the alleged irregularities at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag is still underway.
Speaking on the issue, the Minister said that the government has already initiated the necessary proceedings and that the matter is being examined through the established legal and administrative process.
“Dr. Syed Maqbool has been suspended and the inquiry is still going on. The matter will be dealt with according to law,” Sakina Itoo said.
She said the government is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the healthcare sector and that appropriate action, if warranted, will be taken after the inquiry is completed.
The Minister emphasized that the ongoing investigation will determine the facts of the case and that the final course of action will be based on the findings of the inquiry.
The case pertains to alleged irregularities related to cardiac procedures and PMJAY-SEHAT claims at GMC Anantnag, which are currently under investigation by the concerned authorities. (ANN)
