Shock in South Kashmir: PDD Inspector Dismissed Over Alleged Terror Connections

Srinagar, June 17 (ANN): In a significant action under the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s ongoing crackdown on individuals allegedly linked to terror-related activities, a Power Development Department (PDD) inspector from South Kashmir has been dismissed from government service.
Sources told ANN that Mohd Shafi Malik (51), a resident of Arwani in Bijbehara and posted as Inspector at Hassanpora Tawella, was removed from service following allegations of involvement in activities linked to terrorism.
According to officials, Malik figures in several cases registered at Police Station Bijbehara. These include FIR No. 76/2017, involving charges under Sections 302, 147, 148, 149, 336, 212 and 7/27 Arms Act, as well as FIR No. 66/2018 and FIR No. 78/2018, which contain charges related to rioting, damage to property, obstruction of public servants, and attempted murder.
Officials said the action reflects the government’s continued policy of taking stringent measures against employees accused of maintaining links with terrorism or activities deemed a threat to public security.
The administration has repeatedly maintained that it will pursue a zero-tolerance approach towards terror-related networks and their alleged facilitators. (ANN).
