Anantnag Police Seals Three Shops for Selling Imported Cigarettes

As part of its ongoing drive against the illegal sale of tobacco products, Anantnag Police conducted inspections at various locations across the district and found three shops involved in the sale of imported cigarettes in violation of prescribed regulations.

Accordingly, the following establishments were sealed:

1. Laway General Store, Pahalgam

2. Jewel Pan Shop, Lal Chowk, Anantnag

3. Manda Genral Store, Bijbehara

The action was taken to ensure compliance with tobacco control laws and to curb the unauthorized sale of imported tobacco products. Anantnag Police has reiterated its commitment to strict enforcement of the law and warned that similar action will be taken against any individual or establishment found violating the relevant provisions.

The public is requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any such violations to the nearest police station.
