Palhallan, April 28: In a major awareness initiative under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Baramulla Police on Tuesday organised an anti-drug bike rally from Palhallan Pattan to Goushbugh Pattan, drawing enthusiastic participation from local youth and police personnel.
The rally was aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging young people to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle. Participants rode through key areas carrying placards and raising slogans such as “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life,” sending a strong message against drug addiction.
Officials said the event reflected growing community support in tackling the drug menace, with youth from the area joining hands with police in the campaign.
The initiative also sought to strengthen public participation in creating a safer and healthier society.
The rally was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Raja Majid, along with SHO Pattan and other officers of Sub-Division Pattan. Police officers interacted with participants and stressed the need for collective efforts to keep society free from narcotics.
Authorities said such programmes will continue across the district as part of a broader strategy to curb drug abuse through awareness, prevention and community engagement.
The programme concluded peacefully, with Baramulla Police reiterating its commitment to protecting the younger generation and promoting a drug-free future.
