Speaking on the “Pod Force One” podcast, Trump said he would like to meet Khamenei in the future and suggested that the Iranian leader would ultimately have the final say on any negotiations with Washington.
“I’d like to meet him, and we’ll probably meet at some point, depending on how things develop,” Trump said.
The remarks come against the backdrop of heightened tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. During the same interview, Trump also acknowledged using strong language during a recent phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
