Two Labourers Dead, One Seriously Injured After Tractor Overturns at Sangri Bypass in Baramulla

Baramulla: In a tragic incident, two labourers lost their lives while another sustained serious injuries after a tractor reportedly overturned during construction work at Sangri Bypass in Baramulla.
The incident occurred when the labourers were engaged in construction work on the new bypass at Sangri. According to preliminary information, three labourers were caught in the accident after the tractor overturned.
The deceased have been identified as Rafiq Ahmad Chachi, son of Mohammad Dawood Chachi, resident of Chanderkoot, Ramban, and Abdul Waheed Dayi, son of Mohammad Mali, resident of Janaka, Jammu.
The injured labourer has been identified as Imran Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, resident of Delina, Baramulla.
All three labourers were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for medical treatment. However, Rafiq Ahmad Chachi and Abdul Waheed Dayi succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, while Imran Ahmad Dar is undergoing treatment.
According to the injured labourer, they were working at the construction site when the tractor overturned. He further alleged that they remained waiting for nearly three hours after the incident, but no one from the contractor’s side arrived to assist them.
The incident has raised concerns regarding the safety arrangements for labourers engaged in construction work and the alleged delay in assistance following the accident.
