Police recover bag containing medicines, eatables near encounter site in Budgam
BUDGAM — Police in Budgam have recovered a bag containing medicines and eatables from the vicinity of Palmaidan in Doodhpathri, where Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Hashim Moosa was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces on September 29, officials said.
Police suspect that the recovered items may have been intended for the use of the slain terrorist. The recovery is part of the ongoing investigation into his presence in the area and the possible logistical support provided to him.
Investigators are examining the origin of the items, how the bag reached the location and the possible involvement of overground workers, co-conspirators or other associates, officials said.
The encounter took place following a coordinated operation based on intelligence inputs. The recovery has been linked to FIR No. 181/2026 registered at Khansahib police station under relevant sections of law.
Further investigation is underway to identify and establish the role of individuals allegedly associated with the suspected support network. — (KIMS)
