Police organizes Thana Diwas-cum-Drug Awareness Programmes in Pulwama
Pulwama, Jul 1: As part of its continued efforts to strengthen police-public relations and promote a drug-free society, Pulwama Police today organized Thana Diwas-cum-Drug Awareness Programmes across all Police Stations and Police Posts of the district under the supervision of concerned supervisory officers.
The programmes witnessed active participation from respectable citizens, community representatives, students, Numberdars, Chowkidars, and members of the public. During the interactions, participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), and the collective responsibility of society in combating the drug menace.
The participants were also briefed about the role and functioning of the police in maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and addressing public grievances. Awareness was further imparted on issues relating to cybercrime, community policing, and the importance of youth participation in building a safe and healthy society.
During the programmes, members of the public projected various grievances and issues of public importance. The grievances were heard patiently and recorded for necessary action. Participants were assured that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority and matters pertaining to other departments would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
The programmes concluded with interactive sessions, during which participants appreciated the efforts of Pulwama Police in organizing such outreach initiatives and reaffirmed their support in the fight against drug abuse and other social evils.
