Police busts alleged sex racket in Akhnoor, three arrested
JAMMU (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have busted an alleged sex racket in Akhnoor area of Jammu and arrested three persons, including the owner of the house where the alleged illegal activities were being carried out.
According to a police statement, Rural Police Jammu conducted a raid at a house located in Ward No. 2, Kashmiri Mohalla, Akhnoor, following credible information about alleged immoral trafficking activities.
Police said that during the operation, three accused persons were arrested. They have been identified as Ravi Gupta, a resident of Ward No. 2, Akhnoor and the owner of the house, Sarishta Devi, a resident of Chowki Choura, Akhnoor, and Sahil Sharma, a resident of Sungal, Akhnoor.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 164/2026 has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor under the relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, and investigation has been taken up.
Police said further investigation is underway to identify other persons involved, ascertain the full extent of the alleged illegal activities, and take appropriate legal action in accordance with the law. — (KIMS)
