Police attach property worth ₹69.82 lakh in 2008 militancy-linked case in Baramulla

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Baramulla Police on Sunday secured an attachment order from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court, Sopore, for land worth approximately ₹69.82 lakh belonging to an accused in a case registered under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other laws.

According to a police statement, the attachment order was obtained in connection with FIR No. 02/2008 registered at Police Station Chandoosa under Sections 2/3 of the EIMCO Act, 120-B and 121 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), and Section 13 of the UAPA.

The order pertains to 12 kanal, one marla and 73 square feet of land belonging to accused Parvaiz Ahmad Famda, son of Yaar Mohammad Famda, a resident of Kawhar Bala, Chandoosa.

Police said the property has been valued at ₹69,82,550 and the requisite valuation certificate has also been obtained.

In a related development in the same case, Baramulla Police also obtained an arrest warrant from the NIA Court, Sopore, against another accused, Abdul Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of Rajpora, Chandoosa.

Police said the action reflects its continued efforts to pursue individuals allegedly involved in unlawful activities and ensure that legal proceedings are taken to their logical conclusion in accordance with law. — (KIMS)
