Operation Drishti: Indian Army Organises Mega Eye and Cataract Surgical Camp in Tangdhar
Tangdhar, Kupwara: The Indian Army organised a two-day Mega Eye and Cataract Surgical Camp at the FSC Tangdhar, bringing specialised eye-care services closer to residents of remote and border areas of Kupwara district.
As part of Operation Drishti, more than 200 patients registered for cataract surgery, while over 100 cataract surgeries were successfully performed on the first day of the camp.
The initiative is aimed at improving access to specialised healthcare for communities living in areas along the Line of Control (LoC), where access to advanced medical services can be challenging due to geographical and logistical constraints.
The camp provided residents with access to specialised ophthalmic care closer to their homes, reflecting efforts to strengthen healthcare outreach in remote and border communities.
The two-day initiative is being conducted with the objective of expanding access to quality eye-care services and addressing the healthcare needs of residents in the Tangdhar area.
