Nasha Mukt J&K Mega Padyatra: DC Anantnag Invites Stakeholders, Calls for Mass Participation

Anantnag, May 06: In preparation for the upcoming Nasha Mukt J&K Mega Padyatra scheduled on May 09, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat (IAS), on Wednesday held a series of meetings with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, urging collective action to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.

The meetings witnessed participation from former public representatives, village committee members, sports personalities, social activists, religious leaders, and other prominent members of society, all of whom are expected to actively take part in the padyatra.

Extending a formal invitation, the DC emphasized that the rally aims to bring together all sections of society in a unified effort to build a drug-free district. He described the padyatra as a significant step in reinforcing the district’s commitment to the ongoing 100-day intensified Nasha Mukt J&K campaign.

Highlighting the importance of community involvement, Dr. Bilal stated that drug abuse poses a serious threat to individuals, families, and society at large. He stressed the need for a broad-based and holistic approach to effectively tackle the issue, underscoring that sustained and coordinated efforts are essential for its eradication.

“The event is not just a rally but a collective expression of resolve against narcotics. Active participation from all sections will send a strong message and help safeguard the future of our youth,” he said.

He also lauded the proactive role of stakeholders, noting that their involvement would ensure the event is inclusive, impactful, and capable of driving meaningful awareness at the grassroots level.

Terming participants as “ambassadors of change,” the DC urged them to mobilize maximum participation from their respective areas. He added that the padyatra offers a vital opportunity for the district to unite under a shared vision of a drug-free society.

On the occasion, stakeholders expressed full support to the administration and assured cooperation in ensuring large-scale participation. They also shared valuable suggestions to enhance outreach and strengthen public engagement ahead of the event.
