Major Announcement for Passenger Convenience: One Additional AC-3 Tier Coach Permanently Augmented in Kanyakumari-Katra and Tirunelveli-Katra Express
Jammu, June 28 : Keeping in view passenger convenience and the summer rush, the Railways has now made permanent the temporary augmentation of one additional AC-3 Tier coach in Train No. 16318/16317 (Kanyakumari–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) and Train No. 16787/16788 (Tirunelveli–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra).
As per the details, in Train No. 16317/16318 Kanyakumari–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express, a Third AC coach will be permanently attached from Kanyakumari w.e.f. 03.07.2026 and from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra w.e.f. 06.07.2026.
In Train No. 16787/16788 Tirunelveli–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express, a Third AC coach will be permanently attached from Tirunelveli w.e.f. 06.07.2026 and from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra w.e.f. 09.07.2026.
This permanent augmentation will make additional berths available in the AC-3 Tier category, which will provide major relief especially during the summer and festive seasons to pilgrims traveling to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi as well as to passengers traveling between South India and Jammu & Kashmir. The chances of waitlisted passengers getting confirmed berths will also increase.
