J&K Police Issues Cut-Off Timings for Non-Convoy Amarnath Yatra Vehicles, Tourists

Srinagar, July 3: To ensure the safe and smooth movement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims, the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police has announced mandatory cut-off timings for non-convoy yatri vehicles and tourists travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
According to the revised traffic advisory, the restrictions will remain in force from July 2 to August 28, 2026, with specific cut-off timings fixed at various points along the highway to facilitate the secure movement of Yatra convoys.
Authorities have advised all pilgrims travelling in non-convoy vehicles, as well as tourists, to plan their journeys well in advance, as vehicles arriving at designated checkpoints beyond the prescribed timings will not be allowed to proceed.
The Traffic Police said the measures are aimed at preventing congestion, ensuring uninterrupted convoy movement, and enhancing the overall safety of pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage. Tourists have also been urged to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow the advisory to avoid inconvenience.
The administration has appealed to commuters to stay updated with official traffic advisories and strictly adhere to the notified timings for a hassle-free journey.
