Govt approves ₹13.75 crore for restoration of heritage sites in Srinagar, Samba

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved projects worth ₹13.75 crore for the conservation, restoration and upgradation of two historic heritage sites in Srinagar and Samba, reaffirming its commitment to preserving the Union Territory’s rich cultural and spiritual legacy.

According to posts shared by the Chief Minister’s Office on X, the government has sanctioned ₹6.59 crore for the conservation and upgradation of the historic Imambara Zadibal in Srinagar. The project aims to preserve the site’s heritage character while upgrading essential facilities for devotees and visitors.

In a separate initiative, the government has also approved ₹7.16 crore for the restoration and revival of the historic Purmandal heritage site in Samba. The project is intended to conserve the site’s cultural and spiritual significance while improving its appeal and amenities for pilgrims and tourists.

The approvals are part of the government’s broader efforts to protect Jammu and Kashmir’s historic landmarks and promote heritage tourism across the region. — (KIMS)
