Ganderbal Police conduct joint urban security mock drill for SANJY-2026

GANDERBAL (KIMS) — As part of security preparedness for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Ganderbal Police, in coordination with the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other concerned agencies, on Thursday conducted a joint mock drill at Wandhama Pandit Colony focusing on Urban Area Room Intervention.

The exercise was aimed at enhancing operational readiness, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a swift and effective response to security contingencies in urban areas.

During the drill, participating teams rehearsed coordinated room intervention techniques, evacuation procedures and tactical response mechanisms to ensure seamless coordination during emergencies.

Police said the exercise reflects its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of preparedness and coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims and visitors during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. — (KIMS)
