Full Dress rehearsal for Independence Day held at DPL Pulwama
Pulwama, Aug 13: A full dress rehearsal for the forthcoming Independence Day-2026 celebrations was held today at District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama, as part of the preparations for the national celebration on August 15.
On the occasion, Dr. S.M. Ashraf-JKAS, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, accompanied by Addl. Superintendent of Police Pulwama Shri Shafat Mohammad Najar-JKPS, unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute during the march-past. Senior officers from the Civil Administration, Police Department and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
The parade was commanded by DySP Probationary Shri Mohammad Waseem Khan. Contingents of J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, CRPF, Home Guards and students from various educational institutions participated in the march-past.
The rehearsal also featured colourful cultural performances by students and artists, adding to the patriotic spirit of the occasion.
The rehearsal provided an opportunity to review the ceremonial arrangements and preparedness for the Independence Day celebrations scheduled to be held on August 15.
