FRS Leads to Arrest of Three OGWs During Amarnath Yatra Security Operation

Anantnag, July 8: In a major security breakthrough during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Anantnag Police apprehended three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) after the Facial Recognition System (FRS) generated alerts about their movement in the Sarbal area.
According to police, the advanced surveillance system flagged the three suspicious individuals while they were passing through the area. Acting immediately on the alerts, police personnel intercepted them and carried out identity verification.
During the verification process, all three individuals were identified as OGWs. Based on the intelligence generated by the Facial Recognition System and subsequent verification, they were taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
The successful operation underscores the growing role of technology-driven policing in enhancing security arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Anantnag Police stated that modern surveillance systems, including the Facial Recognition System, are proving to be effective tools in detecting potential threats and strengthening the overall security grid.
