Four persons involved in narcotics possession arrested in Pulwama
Pulwama, April 20: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police achieved significant success in two separate naka checking operations, leading to the arrest of four individuals involved in narcotics possession.
In the first operation, a naka was laid by Police Post Newa at Singu Narbal. A motorcycle (Registration No. JK22D-1015) carrying two persons was intercepted for checking. During search, approximately 7.50 grams of heroin-like substance along with ₹1,500 cash was recovered from their possession.
The contraband, cash, and the motorcycle used in the commission of the offence were seized on the spot after completing all legal formalities. Both accused were arrested and taken into custody.
In this regard, FIR No. 59/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation has been initiated.
In another operation, a police party from Police Station Rajpora established a naka at Rajpora Bridge and intercepted two individuals travelling on a motorcycle (Registration No. JK22C-2183) from Hawal towards Rajpora. During checking, approximately 8.5 grams of brown sugar-like substance was recovered from their possession. Both accused were apprehended on the spot.
Accordingly, FIR No. 61/2026 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajpora, and investigation has been taken up.
