Drug peddler arrested with over 10 kg charas-like substance in Bandipora
BANDIPORA — Police in Bandipora arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 10.130 kg of charas-like substance from his possession during a naka checking in Hajin area on Monday, officials said.
The accused was apprehended at Hakbara-Chandergair crossing and has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Sabir Mir, a resident of Hakbara.
Police said a case (FIR No. 120/2026) under Sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Hajin, and further investigation is underway. — (KIMS)
