Drug peddler arrested in Pulwama, contraband recovered
Pulwama, May 1: Continuing its firm action against the menace of drug trafficking, Pulwama Police achieved a significant success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering a substantial quantity of contraband substance.
During routine patrolling in the Reshipora–Mohanviji area, a police party of Police Station Kakapora observed a suspicious person moving towards Mohanviji. On noticing the police presence, the individual attempted to flee from the spot.
However, the alert police personnel acted swiftly, chased, and successfully apprehended the suspect. During his search, the accused was found carrying a nylon bag. Upon checking, the bag was found to contain charas choora weighing approximately 1.580 kilograms after proper weighing on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Pal S/o Mohd Yousuf Pal, a resident of Ompora Budgam.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 35/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kakapora, and further investigation has been taken up.
