Driver Killed; Two Girl Students Injured After School Bus Falls Into Gorge in Budgam

Budgam, Jun 12 : A driver of a school bus lost his life and two other girl students were injured after a school bus skidded off the road and plunging into a gorge at Neego Brenwar village, of Chadoora Budgam on Friday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred when the school bus lost control and fell into a gorge in the Neego Brenwar area of Khansahib.

In the incident, the driver, identified as Shahid Ahmad Lone, son of Zahoor Ahmad Lone and a resident of Kechwari, Khansahib, died on the spot.

The two injured girl students were initially shifted to CHC Surasyar for medical treatment and were later referred to SDH Chadoora. Subsequently, both were shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialized treatment, officials said.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and further details are awaited. (JKNS)
