Crore-Worth Crackdown: Srinagar Police Attach ₹1.5 Crore Property of Drug Peddler
Srinagar, April 28, 2026:
In a significant escalation of its ongoing war against narcotics, Srinagar Police has attached immovable property worth approximately ₹1.5 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, delivering a major blow to the illegal drug network operating in the city.
The action was carried out by Police Station Rainawari under the stringent provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act as part of the intensified Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan. The attached property includes a single-storey residential house along with land measuring 11 marlas, located in Sultan Mohalla, Saidakadal area of Srinagar.
The property belongs to accused Bilal Ahmad Patoo, son of Ali Mohammad Patoo, who is involved in FIR No. 39/2022 registered under Sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act. According to police officials, the property has been identified as illegally acquired through proceeds generated from drug trafficking.
Officials stated that the attachment is part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug networks, ensuring that those involved not only face legal consequences but are also stripped of assets accumulated through illicit means.
Srinagar Police reiterated its firm resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and warned that strict action will continue against individuals involved in narcotics trade. Authorities also urged the public to play an active role in this fight by sharing credible information related to drug peddling.
The move sends a strong message that the long arm of law will not only target offenders but will also choke the economic lifelines sustaining the drug trade in Jammu & Kashmir.
