CM introduces GST, Ease of Doing Business bills in Assembly
SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday introduced key legislative bills, including the J&K Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the J&K Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026, in the ongoing autumn session of the Legislative Assembly.
The proposed legislations are aimed at facilitating economic growth and improving the business environment in Jammu and Kashmir. The Ease of Doing Business Bill seeks to streamline the regulatory framework and reduce procedural hurdles for citizens and businesses.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice, Abdullah also informed the House that joint teams from the Revenue, Agriculture and Horticulture departments were conducting an on-the-spot assessment of crop damage caused by a severe hailstorm in Tehsil Kunzer/Tangmarg.
The assessment is being carried out to ascertain the extent of damage to crops and facilitate further action by the administration. — (KIMS)
