J&K Anti-Corruption Bureau Announces Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 from October 26 to November 1

“Probity for Prosperity”

Srinagar, October 23: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu and Kashmir, will observe Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 from October 26 to November 1, with the theme “Probity for Prosperity,” highlighting the importance of honesty, integrity, transparency and accountability in public life.

The campaign aims to encourage citizens and public servants to reject corruption in all its forms and contribute towards building a transparent, accountable and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the ACB’s awareness campaign, the Central Vigilance Commission observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year around October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, to promote integrity and accountability in public administration.

## Youth Participation to Be a Key Focus

This year, the ACB Jammu and Kashmir will organise awareness activities, integrity pledges and public outreach programmes across the Union Territory. Youth participation will be a major focus, with Youth Parliaments planned in colleges and universities to engage students in discussions on ethical conduct, transparency and the role of citizens in preventing corruption.

The campaign calls upon every citizen to take the Integrity Pledge and actively support efforts to eliminate corruption from public life.

## Four Key Messages of the Campaign

The ACB has urged citizens to:

1. **Take the Integrity Pledge** and uphold honesty in personal and professional life.

2. **Say no to bribery and report corruption** whenever encountered.

3. **Demand transparency in public services** and promote accountability in government institutions.

4. **Partner in building a clean and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir** by supporting ethical practices and responsible citizenship.

The Bureau has emphasised that honesty and integrity are essential foundations for a prosperous society, and that combating corruption requires collective participation from citizens, government employees and public institutions.

## A Call for Collective Responsibility

The Vigilance Awareness Week campaign seeks to strengthen public awareness about the harmful effects of corruption and encourage people to take an active role in promoting good governance.

The ACB has called upon citizens and public servants to uphold integrity, refuse illegal payments and help create a culture in which transparency and accountability are valued.
