The tour was aimed at providing young Kashmiri students with exposure to educational and career opportunities in the defence, medical and engineering sectors. During their visit to Pune, the students visited premier institutions, including the National Defence Academy (NDA), Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Army Institute of Technology (AIT).

The students were briefed about the academic programmes, training facilities and career opportunities available at these institutions. They also interacted with lady cadets, women officers, faculty members and senior military personnel, gaining firsthand insight into the experiences and professional opportunities available to women in various fields.

The interaction with women officers and cadets provided the students an opportunity to understand the challenges, responsibilities and career pathways associated with the armed forces and other professional sectors.

The Indian Army said the initiative was aimed at encouraging young girls to explore diverse career opportunities and broaden their understanding of professional education and training.

The Capacity Building Tour also provided the students with exposure beyond their local environment and facilitated interaction between Kashmiri youth and the Indian Army.
