ACB to engage law students as interns in govt departments
SRINAGAR/JAMMU — As part of its Vigilance Awareness campaign, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir has launched an initiative to engage law students from reputed universities of the Union Territory as interns.
Under the special internship programme, the students will be assigned to various government departments to gain first-hand exposure to their functioning, particularly departments involved in public service delivery.
According to the ACB, the programme aims to familiarise the young generation with the working of government departments and enable the interns to assess and comment on the transparency being maintained in public dealings.
The interns were separately briefed about the programme by Director ACB during sessions held in Srinagar and Jammu. He explained the process and guidelines to be followed during the internship and apprised the students of their role and responsibilities.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging greater awareness among young law students about transparency, accountability and ethical governance, while providing them an opportunity to understand the functioning of public institutions. — (KIMS)
