Omar Abdullah meets Amit Shah, discusses Statehood and key J&K issues
SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed several key issues concerning the Union Territory, including restoration of Statehood and finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also raised the issue of rationalisation of reservations and discussed other matters related to public welfare and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Abdullah briefed the Home Minister about the First International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), which is scheduled to begin in Srinagar next week.
The Chief Minister also thanked Shah for the timely assistance being extended to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of flood-related damage reported across several areas.
The meeting comes amid the J&K government’s continued efforts for restoration of Statehood and resolution of key administrative and developmental issues concerning the Union Territory. — (KIMS)
