JAMMU, AUGUST 17 : The annual Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 commenced on Monday with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagging off the first batch of devotees from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, Jammu, marking the beginning of the revered pilgrimage to the holy abode of Mahadev.
Extending his warmest greetings and best wishes to all devotees embarking on the sacred journey, the Lieutenant Governor prayed for a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha said the pilgrimage to Baba Budha Amarnath Ji is a deeply enlightening spiritual experience that has the power to transform the lives of devotees.
“The sacred journey to Baba Budha Amarnath’s abode is a deeply enlightening experience. I firmly believe this pilgrimage brings profound transformation and reveals life’s deepest truths to every devotee,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the efforts of the Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, VHP, Bajrang Dal, local administration, security agencies, langar organisations and civil society groups for their coordinated efforts and comprehensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra and Mela.
He emphasised the importance of ensuring that pilgrims receive all necessary facilities and support throughout their spiritual journey.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by a large gathering of spiritual leaders, religious heads, public representatives, senior civil and police officers, security officials, prominent citizens and enthusiastic devotees.
The commencement of the yatra marked another significant occasion of faith, devotion and spiritual harmony, with devotees setting out on the sacred journey to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva at the revered Shri Budha Amarnath Ji shrine.(KNC)
