Srinagar Police Conducts Extensive Search Operations Across Public Transport Network
Srinagar, July 25 : In continuation of its sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and disrupt support networks, Srinagar Police today conducted extensive search and checking operations across the city’s public transport system.
The operations were carried out at multiple locations covering buses, minibuses, taxis, private cabs, and other passenger vehicles. During the drive, Police teams conducted systematic searches of vehicles, verified the identity of passengers and drivers, and checked relevant documents in accordance with established legal procedures.
The exercise forms part of the ongoing preventive and intelligence-led counter-terrorism measures aimed at preventing the misuse of public transport by anti-national elements. It was also intended to strengthen the security grid, enhance public confidence, and ensure a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors.
Senior Police officers supervised the operations to ensure their effective execution. The searches were carried out in a professional and courteous manner, with every effort made to minimise inconvenience to the public.
The public extended full cooperation during the exercise, reflecting a shared commitment towards maintaining peace, security, and public order.
