Pahalgam, July 5 (KNC): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam to review the ongoing arrangements for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and assess the preparedness of various departments involved in managing the pilgrimage.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor chaired a high-level review meeting with senior civil, police, and yatra management officials to evaluate key aspects of the pilgrimage, including the movement of pilgrims, security arrangements, accommodation facilities, registration status, medical services, transport, and other logistical requirements aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the holy Yatra.
Emphasizing the importance of providing a safe and seamless pilgrimage experience, Manoj Sinha instructed officials to accord the highest priority to the safety, security, and convenience of devotees undertaking the sacred journey. He directed all concerned departments to maintain close coordination and ensure that every necessary facility is available for pilgrims throughout the Yatra.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the need to create greater awareness among devotees regarding the mandatory requirement of valid registration and adherence to the allotted travel dates. He said that following the designated registration schedule would help regulate pilgrim movement, reduce waiting time, and facilitate better management of the Yatra.
During his visit, Manoj Sinha interacted with pilgrims at the base camp and enquired about the facilities being provided. He assured the devotees that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, along with all departments associated with Yatra management, is working round the clock to ensure that the annual pilgrimage remains safe, secure, well-organized, and spiritually fulfilling for every pilgrim visiting the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing world-class arrangements and directed officials to remain vigilant and responsive to the needs of pilgrims throughout the Yatra period.(KNC)
