Mock Drill Conducted by Srinagar Police in Coordination with Multi-Agency Stakeholders to Assess Emergency Preparedness for SANJY-2026

Srinagar, June 30 : As part of the preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Srinagar Police today conducted a comprehensive Multi-Agency Mock Drill at Transit Yatri Camp, Panthachowk, in coordination with all stakeholder departments to assess emergency preparedness and strengthen response mechanisms.

The exercise was aimed at evaluating operational readiness, inter-agency coordination, communication systems and the effectiveness of emergency response during critical situations.

The Mock Drill witnessed active participation from J&K Police, CAPFs, Traffic Police, Security Wing, Fire & Emergency Services, Health Department, SDRF, Civil Administration, Ambulance Services and other stakeholder agencies.

Prior to the exercise, all participating agencies were briefed in detail on their respective roles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by the designated Police officers. Particular emphasis was laid on response time, communication flow, coordinated action and adherence to established emergency protocols.

The drill simulated multiple emergency scenarios, including Road Traffic Accidents, Fidayeen attack, Law & Order contingencies, accidental injuries, evacuation, rescue operations and medical emergencies, enabling all participating agencies to validate their preparedness and coordinated response under realistic conditions.

As part of the preparedness measures, arrangements relating to food, shelter and medical assistance for pilgrims have also been streamlined through coordinated efforts of the Civil Administration, CAPD, Revenue and Health Departments under the unified command of the Joint Police Control Room (Joint-PCR).

Following the exercise, a detailed debriefing session was conducted with all stakeholders to identify operational gaps, evaluate response mechanisms and further refine the Emergency Response Plan and SOPs.

The Mock Drill demonstrated the effectiveness of the existing emergency response framework while providing valuable inputs for further strengthening preparedness ahead of the Yatra.

Srinagar Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe, secure and incident-free Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 through coordinated planning, seamless inter-agency cooperation and proactive Policing.
