MLA Ahsan Pardesi Announces ₹95 Lakh Drinking Water Project for Gujar Basti, Check Sangri & Khanmoh
Srinagar, May 22 : MLA from Lal Chowk, Ahsan Pardesi, today announced the imminent start of a major drinking water augmentation project for Gujar Basti, Check Sangri, and Khanmoh, fulfilling a key commitment to improve basic infrastructure in the constituency.
The project, titled “Augmentation of Drinking Water Facilities to Gujar Basti, Check Sangri, Khanmoh by way of exploration of borewell including pipe network, pumping station and electro-mechanical works,” has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹95.00 lakh. Work is expected to commence shortly.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Pardesi noted that residents of Chak Khanmoh have faced acute drinking water shortages for decades. “With the approval and execution of this scheme, the long-pending water crisis will finally be addressed, bringing immense relief to hundreds of households,” he said.
“This project will ensure a sustainable and dependable supply of drinking water to the area and will significantly improve the quality of life of the residents. Access to safe drinking water is a basic necessity—people will be able to lead healthier, more dignified, and comfortable lives,” the MLA added.
Congratulating the direct beneficiaries of the scheme, Mr. Pardesi stated that under the dynamic leadership of Jinab Omar Abdullah, Jammu & Kashmir is poised for growth, with public welfare remaining the government’s top priority. He thanked all concerned departments for making the project a reality and reiterated his unwavering commitment to resolving genuine issues in the Lal Chowk Constituency, ensuring equitable development across all areas.
He further remarked that this approval marks another major milestone in the constituency’s developmental journey, reflecting continued focus on strengthening public infrastructure. He assured residents that initiatives aimed at enhancing civic amenities and public welfare will continue with the same dedication in the coming years
