Handwara, May 12: In a major boost to road connectivity in north Kashmir, the proposed 22.5-kilometre Handwara–Wadderbala road project, estimated at ₹35 crore, is likely to receive official approval next month.
Executive Engineer R&B, Haji Farooq Ahmad Shah said the project is aimed at improving road connectivity and providing better transportation facilities to the people of Handwara and adjoining areas.
The issue was also strongly raised in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly by Sajad Lone, who demanded the upgradation and approval of the road project in the House. Officials said the MLA’s efforts played a significant role in pushing the proposal forward.
