Anti-Drug Drive: Police conducts searches, verifies medical shops, destroys illegal cultivation in Pulwama
Pulwama, May 5: Maintaining sustained momentum under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Pulwama Police continued its focused enforcement and preventive actions across the district to curb drug-related activities.
In a coordinated effort, search operations were conducted in the areas of Rajpora and Lassipora, targeting the residences of suspected drug peddlers, including those involved in NDPS cases, with the aim of dismantling local narcotics networks.
As part of regulatory oversight, several medical shops were inspected across the jurisdiction. During the inspections, records and compliance with prescribed norms were thoroughly verified, and no instances of sale of banned drugs were found.
In a significant preventive action, a patch of land measuring approximately 2 marlas at Gabalpora Hawal was identified where illegal poppy cultivation was found. The illicit crop was destroyed on the spot in coordination with concerned departments, and cognizance has been taken under relevant provisions of law.
Pulwama Police reiterates its firm commitment to continue sustained action against the drug menace and urges the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug abuse or trafficking, thereby contributing towards a safer and drug-free society.
